Use of MicroTurbines as a power source provides a low cost, simple and portable solution to sail plane launch and flight. MicroTurbines act as a sustainer engine during flight so that range and endurance are extended. MicroTurbines make the sail plane self-launching, eliminating the need for a tow plane.

A new concept in the safety of small airplanes. Affordable sustainer engine packages are being developed, which incorporate US MicroJet MicroTurbines which can be used in the event of engine failure. These sustainer engine packages are planned around a retractable pylon. These designs provide post-power loss range and endurance.
